This week I spoke to a client of mine with whom I had worked to ameliorate panic attacks. That work had been very successful and she has learned to alter her experience, and feelings on a moment to moment basis using anchors and other NLP techniques.
When I asked her how she was doing, she told me that she has been driving around town by herself for the first time in years completely free of panic attacks. However she was feeling a bit blue and depressed over her eminent 60th birthday.
So I asked her the three most important questions in NLP:
• What are you feeling?
• What would you rather feel?
• Have you ever felt that way in the past?
Of course she had felt happier and more positive about life in the past. In just a few minutes on the phone we built on the work she had done in session, allowing her to access the anchors we had put into place for the panic attacks to generate the experience she wanted in that moment. I.E. to feel happy to be healthy and alive.
At the end of our conversation she was feeling much better.
